Management Team
Ron has had a career in computing since 1982, with BHP and then CSIRO, in a variety of roles such as programming, database design, systems development, and middle management. Ron did a volunteer IT project in Kathmandu during 2015, and has not been actively seeking work since then; though he is not ready to say he is retired. He joined BSOL in 2016 in order to return something to the community.
My name is Ethna Brown and I am an Inner North Mentor with BSOL. I have been with the organisation since 2004 and in that time have mentored many learners. I am an Entomologist and worked at the Department of Primary Industries where I got my grounding in Computers developing a database of insect images for use by Field Stations. My interests include reading, sport, computer gaming, and line-dancing.
Jonathan has only recently joined BSOL. He has been in business most of his working life spanning a variety of industries during which time he has always done his own books .He feels that well qualifies him for this role as treasurer. For the past 18 years he has worked for Graceville Imports in Brisbane as Operations Manager and 5 years ago semi-retired retaining the role of Admin Manager which he still does today.
Dick Bennet will be familiar to many, as he previously served BSOL as a committee member. Dick is undertaking the role of Publicity Officer for the Association, a position he has held in the past.
Dick is keen and enthusiastic about publicising the good that BSOL has to offer the seniors community. He is willing and able to assist any Hub in Brisbane looking to promote BSOL.
